Replisome instability, fork collapse, and gross chromosomal rearrangements arises synergistically from Mec1 kinase and RecQ helicase mutations
Article Abstract:
The stable maintenance of replisome components requires the ATR kinase Mec1/Ddc2 and the RecQ helicase Sgs 1, when replication forks stall. It is shown that replisome instability, fork collapse, and gross chromosomal rearrangements arise synergistically from Mec1 kinase and RecQ helicase mutations.

Decline in ribosomal fidelity contributes to the accumulation and stabilization of the master stress response regulator [sigma.sup.s] upon carbon starvation
Article Abstract:
The regulation of cell ageing and protection against the stress induced during growth arrest are offered by the [sigma.sup.s] subunit of RNA polymerase. The stabilization of [sigma.sup.s] upon carbon starvation is enhanced by the reduction in ribosomal fidelity as suggested by the mutation studies.

Role of the Escherichia coli RecQ DNA helicase in SOS signaling and genome stabilization at stalled replication forksHishida, Takashi
Article Abstract:
The RecQ protein set is an extremely conventional set of DNA helicases, which perform the function of sustaining the genomic stability. It is biochemically and genetically proved that Escherichia coli RecQ techniques paused the duplication forks and has contributed in the SOS signaling.
