Single cell profiling of potentiated phospho-protein networks in cancer cells

Article Abstract:

The phospo-protein responses to environmental cues in acute myeloid leukemia at the single cell level are monitored, using multiparameter flow cytometry. The results showed a remodeling of signaling networks in cancer cells, and concluded that single cell measurements of phospho-protein responses reveal shifts in signaling potential of a phospo-protein network, allowing for categorizing of cell networks phenotypes by multidimensional molecular profiles of signaling.

Host control of HIV-1 parasitism in T cells by the nuclear factor of activated T cells

Article Abstract:

The transcription factor NFATc was found to be a adequate as a cellular factor to stimulate a highly permissive state for HIV-1 replication in primary CD4+ T cells. NFATc surmounted a blockade at reverse transcription and allowed active HIV-1 replication. Pharmacologic obstruction of endogenous NFAT activity by FK506 or CsA prevented synthesis of reverse transcription and also impeded HIV-1 replication.

Regulation of p53 translation and induction after DNA damage by ribosomal protein L26 and nucleolin

Article Abstract:

Nucleolin over-expression suppresses p53 translation and induction after DNA damage whereas nucleolin downregulation promotes p53 expression. The findings demonstrate the importance of increased translation of p53 in DNA-damage responses and suggest critical roles for ribosomal protein L26 (RPL26) and nucleolin in affecting p53 induction.
