Testing for linkage: phase known/unknown
Article Abstract:
The nature of data used in determining recombination fractions while analyzing linkage between the loci of two genes influences the type of test to be used. In the case of phase-known data, a one-sided significance test is suitable, while a two-sided significance test is applicable for phase-unknown data. This approach overcomes the limitations of previously used tests to study plant breeding.

Genetic linkage groups in the Japanese brown frog
Article Abstract:
The inheritance and genetic linkage relationships of the Japanese brown frog (Rana japonica) were investigated, by analyzing the offspring from males heterozygous at 15 loci encoding enzymes and blood proteins, and one locus for black eye mutation. The aim was to clarify the genetic linkage groups and compare them with those of other amphibians.
