The Forkhead transcription factor UNC-130 is required for the graded spatial expression of the UNC-129 TGF-beta guidance factor in C. elegans

Article Abstract:

The graded expression of UNC-129 in dorsal, but not ventral, body muscles of Caenhabditis elegans depends on unc-130 and unc-130 encodes a Forkhead transcription factor. UNC-129 does not require the only known type II TGF-beta receptor in C. elegans (DAF-4) for its guidance functions, and unc-130 is partially required for male tail morphogenesis and also embryogenesis.

A complex containing CstF-64 and the SL2 snRNP connects mRNA 3' end formation and trans-splicing in C. elegans operons

Article Abstract:

A complex of CstF-64 and the SL2 snRNP has been found to connect mRNA 3' end formation and trans-splicing in Caenorhabditis elegans operons. CstF-64 is the homolog to the RNA-binding subunit of mammalian CstF. Immunoprecipitations were carried out using an antibody to C. elegans CstF-64. SL2 RNA is precipitated with alpha CstF-64 while other snRNAs were not.

The RING finger/B-Box factor TAM-1 and a retinoblastoma-like protein LIN-35 modulate context-dependent gene silencing in Caenorhabditis elegans

Article Abstract:

The RING finger/B-Box factor TAM-1 and a retinoblastoma-like protein LIN-35 are discussed relative to context-dependent gene silencing in Caenorhabditis elegans, a process which they modulate. Tandem array transgenes were used for a model substrate in a screen for C. elegans mutants affecting context-dependent gene silencing in somatic tissues.
