Transcriptome evolution - much ado about nothing?
Article Abstract:
Microarray technologies analyzing the transcriptome are used to tackle questions in evolutionary biology. The way in which Khaitovich et al in 2004 used these methods to conclude that majority of the evolutionary changes in gene expression are of little or no adaptive significance, is presented.

Article Abstract:
Protein interactions are developed to identify candidate protein based on correlated evolutionary constraints. Majority of interacting proteins were found to display higher correlation coefficients in their levels of expression.

A study revealed that genes with male functions evolve more rapidly as compared to those used for other functions. Evolutionary biologists are using microarrays to study global sex-biased gene expression.
