A heuristic algorithm for the capacitated multiple supplier inventory grouping problem

Article Abstract:

An algorithm model is developed for the multiple supplier inventory grouping problem. The model takes into account various costs involving purchasing, shipping, ordering and inventory holding. The speed and efficiency of the mixed integer programming model which has been expanded to include stochastic demand and primal time patterns, will encourage purchasing managers to experiment on grouping strategies with varied applications.

An application of covariance analysis to capacity expansion at an intermodal blending plant

Article Abstract:

The techniques of analysis of variance and regression analysis are combined in covariance analysis, whose greater power and capability to reduce bias between groups makes it suitable for various applications involving the evaluation of simulation output. Multiple analysis of covariance is applied to an experiment simulating the addition of commodity handling and storage capacity to an intermodal transfer and blending facility.

Multiperiod capacity expansion in globally dispersed regions

Article Abstract:

Research into multiperiod capacitated location modelling (MCL) is presented. The new model includes recent trends in facility location and imposes global and regional limits on the number of open sites.
