The flaws in International Financial Reporting Standards that are now applicable to all Australian companies are highlighted. It is observed that the options in-built in the standards give scope for earnings management and are a dent on corporate governance.

The risk-return ratios associated with the investments in Iran are discussed. The implications of the U.S. attitude towards Iran on these investments are also discussed. On the whole, Iran offers attractive investment opportunities.
