A role of affective experience in work motivation

Article Abstract:

Psychological and neurobiological theories of core affective experience are used to identify a set of direct and indirect paths through which affective feelings at work affect three dimensions of behavioral outcomes. The first affective experience is found to influence the behavioral outcomes indirectly by affecting goal level and goal commitment.

Integrating theories of motivation

Article Abstract:

A superabundance of motivational theories has hindered rather than helped the proper understanding of human behavior. An attempt at converging and integrating these separate endeavors has led to the formation of a temporal and motivational theory (TMT) the potential implications of which are discussed.

Aging, adult development, and work motivation

Article Abstract:

A framework for understanding how age-related changes in adult development affect work motivation is described. Implications of the integrative framework for the use and effectiveness of different motivational strategies with midlife and older workers in a variety of jobs are discussed.
