A slow avalanche

Article Abstract:

The announcement of the industrial relations reform by the John Howard government is discussed. The reform includes certain bills relating to the exemption of businesses having less than 20 employees from unfair dismissals, and to extend unfair dismissal laws. But the government was far from announcing the overhaul of industrial relations, including the introduction of a unitary system. Many employer groups have been critical of the government's recommendation of the labor market.
