Financial Network Services, the Sydney, Australia-based software company, was created in 1985 when Tony Ward and 22 fellow staff members from St George Building Society acquired the rights to the building society's new electronic banking system. Financial Network Services's software licenses cost between A$1 million and A$1.2 million, and implementation can cost up to A$15 million.
