A two-edged sword
Article Abstract:
The curbing of inflation has resulted in a number of side-effects that has prevented the economy from recovering from a recession. Consumers and private businesses must begin to re-examine their beliefs on both the advantages and disadvantages of inflation. Less inflation may result in a number of ill-effects for the economy such as lower tax revenues and reduced consumer spending activity. In addition, less inflation will make it hard for companies to raise selling prices and lessen existing debt burdens.

Back to basics
Article Abstract:
A study of economic trends from the 1920s to the 1990s is presented. The study shows that people's attitudes on the economy have always remained cautious, the effect of which has led to slow economic growth. Although the government had announced the end of the recession in spring 1991, many businessmen and consumers have remained hesitant in hiring new employees. The low employment levels have resulted in lower consumer spending which, in turn, has led to a slow-growth in the national economy.
