Agency risk control through reprisal

Article Abstract:

A study examining the due diligence efforts of venture capital companies for controlling agency risks is presented. Based on Singapore markets, it is observed that venture capital companies that are not strong in reprisal ability are inclined to devote more efforts on due diligence. Venture capital companies face the agency risk from entrepreneurs who sacrifice the interests of venture capital firms for personal gains.

How venture capital firms differ

Article Abstract:

Venture capital firms can differ in four important areas: geographic region, firm size, assistance levels to portfolio companies and stage of investment interest. This conclusion was reached after an examination of data from a mail survey of 149 venture capital firms in the US that touched upon the investment evaluation methods used by such firms and the scope of postinvestment activities conducted.

New venture strategies in a developing country: identifying a typology and examining growth patterns through case studies

Article Abstract:

The static and dynamic patterns of new venture strategy, internationalization and growth are discussed. Initial conditions of the firms, entrepreneurs' management abilities and the degree of technological efforts of the firms for capability accumulation are the variables affecting the growth patterns and speed of change of successful new ventures.
