Analysts forecast smaller gains for 1997

Analysts predict that the stock market will continue to gain in 1997 although at a slower pace than it had in 1996. The bond market, however, could lose ground, especially if interest rates rise. Favored sectors among money managers include technology companies, real estate, and financial services.

Many family businesses fail to survive into the second generation because of poor estate planning. Without a will, more than half the worth of a typical estate goes to the Internal Revenue Service. Advice is provided to help owners of businesses develop a succession and an estate plan.
