Avis to try even harder with ads touting high quality of service

Article Abstract:

Avis Rent a Car is set to launch new TV ad campaign that keeps the 'We try harder' tagline and emphasizes Avis's customer service through humorous vignettes depicting terrible service in other sectors. Avis's new ad agency, Mccann Erickson Worldwide, says the ad campaign aims to enhance the tagline's meaning, by stressing that Avis tries harder in overall service, not just in the context of trying harder than its rival, Hertz.

Global-image campaign a first for Boeing

Article Abstract:

Boeing Co. contracted with FCB Worldwide advertising agency to create a series of television and print ads that will appear in the United States, Germany and Japan. The advertising campaign is designed to not only reach a worldwide customer base, but Boeing's employees as well. The message of the ads is: Boeing is much more than a global leader in building and selling comercial aircraft; it is also involved in building military aircraft, communications satellites and the rockets that put them into orbit. The ad campaign is costing the Seattle, Washington-based aerospace concern $50 million and is a departure from its 25-year relationship with Cole and Weber ad agency.
