Benefit costs surge again
Article Abstract:
The US Chamber of Commerce's annual Employee Benefits survey indicates that benefit costs per employee increased 5.8% between 1990 and 1991 due primarily to increasing costs of medical and retirement plans. In 1991, benefit costs were approximately $13,126 per employee, compared to $12,402 in 1990.

Employers' costs for employees soar
Article Abstract:
US employers spent up to 13% more for health insurance in 1991 than in 1990. In 1992 health plan costs will be more than $4,000 per employee. Many employees are paying more of the expense, and deductibles will be higher.
