The precautionary measures taken by companies like Melbourne's Media World Communications (MWC) that recently bought Adam's Platform software developed by Adam Clark to safeguard its patent rights in United States have been discussed. The increasing importance given by companies to patents rights in United States and the formation of patent trolls by some companies as a means to earn money from patent violators have been described.
