Hart Larwill, a spin-off accounting firm of Deloitte, is now a diversified consulting organization realizing handsome profits. Annual compounded growth in the 1990s has been 12%, and fees will total $6.5 million in 1999. Consultation includes medical, construction, capital tax gains, property syndication, and tax asset sales. Hart works with families and farmers, as well as large firms. Rural clients account for 20% of fees. Rural services include turnkey property funding and financial planning.

GST gets the special treatment

Specialised Business Solutions has won ten new accounts through its first GST training seminar, and the firm is set to conduct monthly seminars for a bank's 5000 clients. Individual practitioner Lenny Schmidt has created a Web site through which he seeks accounting work including GST.
