The British wine industry is expanding, which is surprising to Australians as the UK has such abominable weather one would suspect that it could not support viticulture. Viticulture in the UK first became a serious concern in the 1950s, and now the UK boasts of approximately 500 vineyards. Thames Valley Vineyard has won the top award for commercial wine production in the UK in four of the past six years.

Article Abstract:

Nepenthe is run with precision and with cutting-edge wine technology. The strategy has already paid off for Tweddell because Nepenthe has received rave reviews for its wines, which are targeted for the high end of the market. The wine business is an expensive business to run.
