Chrysler looks to start again

Article Abstract:

DaimlerChrysler AG is looking to revive its Chyrsler Australia Ltd. operations, which is now under the corporate umbrella of DaimlerChrysler Australia/Pacific. Steve Shugg, managing director of Chrysler Australia, is charged with resurrecting the Chrysler brand in Australia, particularly the Jeep Cherokee and the Chrysler Neon. The U.S. built Cherokee suffered from indifferent quality, and the buyers shunned the Neon because of quality and price. Chrysler Australia has launched an all-new Australian-built Grand Cherokee and, in September 1999, will introduce a redesigned Neon.
