Clinton bars U.S. firms from Iranian oil-production deals: Conoco to withdraw from contract

Pres Clinton issued an executive order on Mar 15, 1995, that bans US petroleum firms from helping to develop Iran's oil fields. Conoco Inc, which had previously signed a contract with National Iranian Oil Co, says it will abide by the president's directive and withdraw from the contract.

Salinas, Clinton confer on NAFTA

Article Abstract:

Pres Salinas and Pres-elect Clinton met to discuss NAFTA on Jan 8, 1993. Clinton told Salinas that he would adopt the agreement if Mexico dealt with certain issues, including environmental, labor and human-rights issues.
