Consumer prices increased only 2.9% in 1992, the smallest annual inflation rate since 1986. Prices rose 3.1% in 1991. The consumer price index crept 0.1% higher in Dec 1992, the smallest monthly increase since Jul 1992. The 'core' inflation rate increased 0.1% in Dec 1992.

Consumer prices rose 2.5% in 1995

Article Abstract:

The Labor Dept reported that the consumer price index rose 2.5% in 1995, compared to increases of 2.7% in 1993 and 1994. The 'core' inflation rate was 3%, led by increases in health care, college tuitions and new cars. Prices for computers and clothing fell in 1995.

Article Abstract:

The Labor Dept reported that the consumer price index rose .2% in Dec 1994, and the total increase for 1994 remained low at 2.7%. The 'core' rate, which excludes data from the energy and food industries, was even lower at 2.6%, the smallest rise since 1965.
