Article Abstract:
The economy's stable growth as the year 1999 ushered in, along with a strong close for 1998, foretells how consumer spending will retain its strength for the rest of the year. Despite the decrease in personal savings rates, consumer confidence regarding current economic conditions and those of the near future is likely to signal more growth for retailers of all stripes.
