Cross-cultural management philosophies

Article Abstract:

Management philosophies from a sample of firms and institutions from 41 different countries were analyzed to determine the validity of the four worlds business model, which divides developed and developing nations into entities with distinct management cultures. Worlds of the West, East, North, and South are characterized by different philosophies that stress empiricism, idealism, rationalism, and humanism, respectively. The different philosophies are reciprocally related to recognized organizational and management efficiency.
