Crown gathers skills for a minefield of laws

The casino comapny Crown is having to deal with a lot of difficult issues including a legal wrangling with the stock exchange. The addition of Tony Hartnell to the board of directors during restructuring shows Crown attempting to boost its legal expertise. Hartnell believes that Crown is caught between the stock exchange disclosure requirements and the Victorian Government's confidentiality laws.

The company spent $100 million on interior noise tests between 1987 and 1997 to ensure that the quality of its automobiles fit its luxury segment. The company maintains its positioning and offers other brands for other segments through acquisitions, such as Rover, to offer an off-road vehicle.
