Do Internet valuations make sense?

Under conventional models of valuation and commerce, Internet stockmarket valuations don't make sense, but their popularity and a new economy are causing new models to emerge. In Internet commerce valuations, one has to ignore traditional commercial structures such as price/earnings ratios, and instead look at the company's potential for growth and earnings.

Technology floats not running to form

Article Abstract:

Brokers express disappointment in the low demand for securities issued by Australia's high technology industry. Shares of Austar and Hutchison Telecommunications Ltd have fallen, but software maker MYOB stocks have soared. Slower than expected internet growth and a dip in the US stock market may have caused the slow growth.
