Do-gooder policies

Article Abstract:

The increased competition and the flexibility are set free for restructuring and changes which ensure that resources are used more efficiently to meet customers needs. Australia has a system called national competition policy where by there is an even distribution of revenue between the federal and state governments that results in economic restructuring, and every now and then they come up with policies that are best in the world, latest being the system of dividend policy and structure for listed property trusts.

Faint signs of another rate cut

Article Abstract:

The Reserve Bank of Australia has three choices of how to boost the current inflation rate of below 2% to its goal rate of 2% to 3%. 1) Do nothing and allow the economy to change. 2) Lower its inflation target rate to 0-2% or 1-2% to justify the current rate. 3) Ease monetary policy by cutting the cash rate.
