Acquisitions and mergers are continuing in the drugstore industry, driven by the economic factors of healthcare servicing, geographic diversification and large size, and this trend is not yet over. Drugstore operators are also changing their operations to meet new customer needs and the new concept of the drugstore as a convenience market. Investors need to focus on those companies with good cost controls and market-share gains.
