Entrepreneurship and business ventures in the new commonwealth

Article Abstract:

The New Commonwealth's entrepreneurial efforts are hindered by the lack of reforms in the legal and institutional areas. The entrepreneurial spirit is strong in the New Commonwealth given that 30% of output was generated in the black market during Gorbachev's rule. The lack of capital and managerial skills is a problem, not lack of entrepreneurial spirit. Privatization should start from the lowest levels of the society and move upwards with the large, state-owned institutions going last. The state should encourage systems that promote the growth of business ventures and allow foreign investments in the country.

New technologies and technological information in small businesses

Article Abstract:

Several researchers believe that small businesses lag behind their large counterparts in terms of technology and productivity. Evidence has been gathered showing the creation of new jobs by small businesses, which are adding value to both labor-intensive and modern industries. A study is conducted to show how small businesses use innovations to offset some of their weaknesses in technology. It also shows how they use different methods of obtaining information to compensate for poorly adaptive technology transfer systems.
