Article Abstract:
Rabin, the son of a trade-union organizer and politically active mother, was born in 1922. He was elected prime minister in 1974, but the government fell after Rabin was charged with violating currency laws. He was elected prime minister again in 1992.

Rabin slayer given life
Article Abstract:
Amir was given life in prison for assassinating Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. Amir claimed he killed Rabin to end Israel's peace process with the Palestinians. Capital punishment is only given to Nazi criminals in Israel.
