Article Abstract:

Informix Software Inc's Wingz electronic spreadsheet for the Macintosh personal computer is a valuable tool for management accountants and financial analysts in budgeting, testing various financial scenarios, and building financial projections. The program, called a presentation spreadsheet, takes advantage of the powerful graphic capabilities of the Macintosh. The functions of Wingz include a worksheet that contains 32,768 columns and rows; password protection with encryption; and adjustable row and column resizing and linked worksheets, limited in number only by the memory of the computer. Wingz requires a Macintosh Plus, SE, II, or IIcx with at least one megabyte of memory. Wingz is priced at $399.

"Tax Director" software

Article Abstract:

Arthur Andersen and Company's tax software is described. The Tax Director software allows increased time to be spent on managing taxes. A modeling feature permits the user enhanced speed and reduced staff needs. A 'modeling' features permits the user to alter software standard tax logic. The full tax line of Tax Director includes seven programs or modules, all of which are specifically designed for the IBM personal computer and most compatibles. A math co-processor is needed, and machines should have a minimum of 640k of memory. Machines should have PC-DOS or MS-DOS at levels of 3.2 or more.
