Tony Blair, leader of the Labor Party, proved to critics that the new positions of the party were supported by a majority of members at a conference held Oct 2-6, 1995. He also described the type of information superhighway envisioned by the party. Other actions are described.

The UK's Liberal Democrats met on Sep 20-23, 1993, to discuss issues such as the European Monetary System and the relationship between the Liberal Democrats and the Labor Party. A poll showed that 25% of the public supported the Liberal Democrats.
