Greenspan give Fed monetary report

Article Abstract:

Greenspan on Feb 19, 1993, issued the Federal Reserve Board's semiannual report on monetary policy to the Senate Banking Committee. He issued a similar report to the House subcommittee on domestic monetary policy Feb 22-23. 1993. His report included approval of Pres Clinton's economic plan.

Jobs program for poor areas proposed

Article Abstract:

Pres Clinton outlined his plan to create jobs in 10 neighborhoods that have higher-than-average poverty rates. The plan will spend $8.1 billion over five years, and will give corporations tax credits for establishing businesses in the designated enterprise zones.

Pres Bill Clinton emphasized the importance of reducing the budget deficit at a press conference on May 14, 1993. Clinton admitted that the implementation of his policies would be difficult and defended his economic plan.
