Housing Lifts Off

Article Abstract:

The state of the housing industry is analyzed for current and future trends. Demand is not expected to rise over the next ten years. Housing unit demand will shift from large single family residences to smaller cluster units. Construction design is forecasted to shift from on-site to panelized/modular construction. Market opportunities will exist for space saving furnishings, less-expensive building materials and modular housing. Housing starts are tracked and projected from 1960 to 1992. Top growth markets include California, Texas and Florida.
