How to increase a company's risk taking
Article Abstract:
A study conducted by associate professor Yuval Deutsch, Thomas Keil and Tomi Laamanen showed that providing chief executive officers with stock options at a pre-specified price at a set date in the future encourages risk-taking behavior necessary to spur company growth. The relationship between firm-level risk-taking behavior and CEO and outside board of directors financial incentives are discussed.
