Why should I pursue the CMA & CFM?

Article Abstract:

The Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and Certified in Financial Management (CFM) designations offer numerous benefits to accountants. Although they do not provide additional rights such as those brought by the Certified Public Accountant designation, the CMA and CFM designations certify that their holders have mastery of the technical aspects of accounting and financial management. They also demonstrate a good knowledge of the basics of information processing, as well as the ability to apply theories to 'real world' situations, conduct financial analysis and use cost accounting techniques. These designations are given to those who have satisfied the experience requirements and passed the CMA and CFM examinations. These examinations are discussed.
