IMA President, 1995-96: William J. Ihlanfeldt, CPA

Article Abstract:

William J. Ihlanfeldt has been chosen to be the president of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) for 1995-1996. He says his main mission as Institute head is to communicate the activities, benefits and role of IMA to its many constituencies, which include members, employers of management accountants, and chapters and councils. In pursuit of this mission, Ihlanfeldt encourages vice-presidents and national directors of 1995-1996 to reach out not only to IMA members who take part in chapter and council activities, develop a relationship with other professional organizations and visit companies and cities where IMA membership is low. He believes an effort to communicate can help in retaining members, improve the image of IMA to members as well as the business community, enable the organization to influence accounting standards and boost the status of the IMA as a representative group of the profession.

Clair M. Raubenstine, CMA, CPA, IMA President, 1996-97

Article Abstract:

Clair M. Raubenstine has been elected president of the Institute of Management Accountants for 1996-1997. He says his theme for his term will be harnessing the power of change that is reshaping the world economy and the management accounting profession in particular. Raubenstine is considered a perfect choice for the leadership position because he chaired the ad hoc Committee on Long Range Strategy, which has a goal of creating a plan to take the Institute into the next century. Raubenstine will prioritize the implementation of new certification programs, rally members to participate more actively and provide assistance to emerging countries developing management accounting and financial management systems. Raubenstine is currently a business assurance partner with Coopers and Lybrand LLP.
