Tax reform to be implemented in Australia in 2000 will have to include a reduction in super tax rates to coincide with the lower personal tax rates if the benefits of investing in superannuation are to remain in place. The new tax scales mean that people on a marginal tax rate of 30% will have almost no benefit from super savings.
