Article Abstract:

The Australian Law Reform Commission's 1998 report into general insolvency by Ron Harmer and the Harmer Report expected insolvency practitioners to continue to use schemes for rehabilitating large and complex companies. Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Act provides greater protection for rehabilitating companies and Australia is looking into these wise provisions to save companies.
