Iraq declares cease-fire after more attacks by U.S., allies

Iraqi representatives announced Jan 19, 1993, that the country would comply with United Nations (UN) demands that it permit unfettered UN inspections of its military facilities, and US demands that Iraq stop attacking US and allied planes patrolling Kurdish and Shiite Moslem areas.

Escobar threatens armed struggle
Article Abstract:
Drug cartel leader Escobar stated that he would fight against the Colombian government's efforts to capture him by creating an armed group called Rebel Antioquia. Escobar was suspected of being involved in car-bomb explosions in Bogota in Jan 1993.
