Israel, Syria resume direct talks in Washington

Article Abstract:

Israel and Syria agreed to meet after Sec of State Warren Christopher met with them individually in an effort to restart the peace talks between the two nations. It is hoped that the talks will be complete before Israel's political campaigning begins in earnest during the summer.

Israel, Syria intensify efforts to forge peace terms

Syria and Israel agreed on Jun 10, 1995, to participate in a new round of talks, to be held in Washington DC on Jun 27, 1995. US Sec of State Warren Christopher helped mediate between the two sides. The main issue to be discussed is Israel's withdrawal from the Golan Heights.

Middle East peace talks resume in Washington

Article Abstract:

Arab and Israeli negotiators resumed peace talks on Aug 24, 1992. The talks did not produce any significant agreements, but tensions appeared to decline and optimism appeared to increase.
