Price of Internet banner ads slips as Web sites proliferate
Article Abstract:
As Web sites increase in number and seek advertising, banner ad prices begin to fall as competition gets greater. A Web page banner ad reaching 1,000 viewers is now $35.13 as compared with a 30-second TV spot reaching 1,000 households for about $12 during prime time. Advertisers question the value they are getting when they don't see people actually buying products online.

Marriott to place copies of Journal near guest doors
Article Abstract:
About 30,000 guests at various Marriott International Inc. hotels will find copies of the Wall Street Journal at their doors by the end of three months. The arrangement is expected to help boost the ratings of the Journal as long as Marriott pays at least 50% of the newsstand price. The service is like Gannett's leaving its USA Today at hotel room doors.
