The world stock markets are affected by three factors namely possible rise of interest rates in United States (US), the rise of the US dollar and the government declared slowing down of hyper active Chinese market. These are not likely to affect Australian market yet as the consumer spending is still riding high.

The US Federal Reserve Board's decision to introduce a 25 basis points rise in official interest rates is discussed. It is forecast that Australia will at least match US interest rate rises, as the Australian dollar must be protected.
