MCI agrees to SHL Systemhouse buy

MCI Communications Corp announced on Sep 20, 1995, that it would acquire the Canadian data services firm SHL Systemhouse Inc for around $1 billion. The acquisition will make MCI more competitive with AT&T in providing computer services. SHL's stock rose 66% after the announcement.

NEC buys stake in Packard Bell
Article Abstract:
Packard Bell Electronics Inc announced on Jul 5, 1995, that it was selling a 19.99% stake in the firm to NEC Corp for $170 million. The two computer firms plan to participate in joint development and marketing plans for their computer and video products.
