Music marketing given a new spin

Article Abstract:

The Australian government is allowing retailers to import compact discs to alleviate costs and to pressure record companies to lower prices. The ruling has created chaos in the recording industry and a surge in piracy both nationally and abroad. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission is suing several industry corporations for allegedly refusing to supply music retailers that purchased stock overseas.
