NCR Microelectronics Expands EEPROM Family

NCR Corp. has introduced a 1K serial electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) device. The NCR 59308 is the only five volt serial EEPROM on the market. It supports four instructions: read, write, word erase, and block erase. It features a 500 KHz clock rate, complete TTL compatibility, and eight-pin dual-in-line packaging. It sells for $7.50 each in quantities of 100.

NCR's Corporate Information Management Services (CIMS) is the company's in-house data processing organization. Its staff of eighty-seven is currently running fifty-three major applications. CIMS uses both internally developed and purchased software. The sole criterion is cost-effectiveness. The center services NCR and its subsidiaries, both domestic and abroad.
