Article Abstract:

In 2000, Australian-based pharmaceutical company, CSL, acquired the Swiss blood plasma group, Zentrallaboratorium Blutspendedienst (ZLB), for $AS890, because Brian McNamee and other company directors believed that remaining a regional company would mean the slow death of CSL. The acquisition of ZLB will give CSL a major position in the fast-growing global blood plasma market.
