Stand Firm

Article Abstract:

The government is full of people willing to compromise on any issue, but when it comes to economic recovery and federal spending, business leaders should stand firm and try to discourage any compromises which would result in less federal savings and economic recovery than is possible. The conservatives began, with Reagan's inauguration, to change the spending habits of a nation, but then the compromises began and mistakes were made. The American people can control what goes on in Washington, D.C. by making the people it elects accountable and by not letting them get away with compromises and half compromises that will end up costing the taxpayers billions of dollars. Business and business leaders can and must be a part of the solution through active, vocal participation in government policy and decision making.
