The coming of digital television and the convergence of telecommunications, computing and entertainment will bring vast opportunities to consumers and businesses in Australia and the rest of the world. Consumers will have unprecedented access to services that will range from video e-mail, video on-demand services, and television on the Internet. Businesses will have unlimited opportunities to develop new markets. However, some critics believe the revolution may not happen. They doubt the coming convergence revolution will take place is that most consumers still consider their television to be a passive entertainment source rather than something on which they can find information.
