The bureaucratic logic of entrepreneurial firms: providing opportunity for women or just window dressing?
Article Abstract:
Data from 75 high-tech companies were studied to analyze the role of corporate bureaucracy in opportunities of women. It is found that these firms hired more fema le scientists if they had a full-time HR employee and that opportunities for women increased faster in firms with bureaucratic logic compared to those that embraced the logic of affiliation.
