Beyond direct and symmetrical effects: the influence of demographic dissimilarity on organizational citizenship behavior

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to investigate the influence of demographic dissimilarity in a work group on the level of citizenship behavior exhibited by its members. All the dependent, mediating and control variables were examined through factor analysis. Results provide evidence that the impact of demographic dissimilarity on organizational citizenship behavior and the mediators was more complex than the simple negative effect that the similarity-attraction paradigm projected.

Examining the actions of organizations in conflict: evidence from the Delaware Court of Chancery

Article Abstract:

Research was conducted to examine dispute resolution in organizational settings. The Court of Chancery of the State of Delaware, which is considered the preeminent dispute resolution institution used by US corporations, served as the forum for analyzing corporate dispute resolution. Results indicate the difficulty of gaining a favorable outcome by suing an organization since plaintiffs need to have deep pockets, patience and legal expertise to fight.
